Shady Spot Garden

How gorgeous is this landscaping! Our front yard faces west, so that might mean that it's too hot and sunny for a rose bud azalea and these large hostas. Then again, in late spring when the trees fill in we have more of a dappled shade over most of our yard.

Does anyone else grapple with shade versus sun versus part shade versus full shade planting? It can be kind of confusing. This article from Fine Gardening was helpful in explaining the differences between light shade, full shade, and all that.

If you're interested in finding out exactly what was planted here you can go to this link at Fine Gardening for a rundown.
