Last Minute Costume

My two-year-old daughter had been set for weeks on being a cow for Halloween. But when I went to get her costume yesterday, she changed her mind: "I want to be a scary skeleton, Mama."

With no skeleton costumes left at Walmart (but about a dozen cow ones) I decided to buy some felt and a black hoodie and go to work with my scissors and glue gun.
My bone sketches aren't exactly perfect, but I think there's no mistaking her costume.
I laid out the pieces on the countertop before using a glue gun to attach them to the black clothes. Fabric glue would work too, but it seems like the glue gun glue comes off pretty easily. So I might be able to reuse the hoodie and pants.

Those are my bone drawings below. I pinned them to the felt and cut out the shapes. Then glued them to a pair of black pants and hoodie. I might even try this on the back if I have time.

This costume ended up costing only $7 for the hoodie and $1 for two pieces of 9 x 12 white felt. We already had some black pants and a glue gun.
So here she is. All ready to greet the trick-or-treaters!
