Happy New Year!
This is probably the bravest post I've done in a while. After getting out my watercolors and sumi inks yesterday, I realized that my painting skills are a little rusty. It's so frustrating when you have a vision of something in your mind and you can't quite get it out on paper.
So resolution #1 for 2016 is to paint more. That's a pretty realistic (and fun) goal that I should be able to achieve. I'm marking my calendar now so I remember to do another Happy New Year watercolor for 2017. We'll compare next year and see how good I've been at keeping my resolution.
My only other resolution for next year is to do a better job cleaning the house. I'm going to try really hard to do a thorough cleaning of the entire house once a week. The first and easiest step was to watch some Youtube videos of people cleaning their houses. This was surprisingly good entertainment. Of course, that could be my nesting instincts talking. Check out How Jen Does It.
Whoa! I don't think I will ever be that thorough (and I don't even think that's what she calls thorough), but if I can do 50% of what this woman does then I've reached my goal.
Come mid-March when our little bundle of joy is due, all my cleaning ambition may go up in smoke like an overheated vacuum cleaner (My vacuum really did smoke once. Not from overuse, I'm afraid, but because something got stuck in it.), in which case I'm going to go easy on myself until I can get at least 7 hours of sleep again.
I hope 2016 brings you plenty of good things and that you have success with all your resolutions! I promise to keep you posted on how I'm doing with mine.
Happy New Year!
