I've Been Published!

My picture block project is featured in this month's issue of ReadyMade magazine (February/March 2011). I even have a byline and headshot in there. How excited am I? Super duper excited. Here's the link to the online version. Check out their website here. I'm going to celebrate by making some more iron-transfer wood art, which I'll post here this week. If you'd like to see the original post on my blog, click here.

I love your photo blocks. Would you mind sharing what kind of iron transfer paper you use? I can't get this to work (I am not able to get my images to adhere completely to the wood blocks.)

Thank you!!

Hi. I'm sorry you're having trouble. I used a Japanese brand, but any brand of transfer paper (the kind you use for t-shirt transfers) should work. The key is to iron every spot until it's really hot. It took me about 3 to 5 minutes of ironing per picture. I missed a little spot on the edge the first time and the image wouldn't stick. Hope that helps! Vanessa

And it also helps to cut the pictures a little smaller than the size of the cube. Vanessa
