There's No Place Like Home Depot

Yesterday was ANOTHER Japanese national holiday! We went on a fun day trip to Kasama, a town famous for its pottery (more on that later).

But before we left for the train, I had to get in some painting. That's me on the balcony at 6:30 in the morning.

For this paint job I used a water based paint in "milky white" from Tokyu Hands. But because the paint might have ended up costing me more than the Ikea shelf it's covering (OK, not really but close), I used 2 cans of 100 yen store paint as a base coat. That seemed to work out OK.

I don't know if Home Depot is the answer, but I would like a better selection of affordable paints to choose from.
