Rikugien Garden

Having guests in town is always a great reason to go exploring. My parents wanted to see a Japanese garden, so I ran through the list of gardens I was familiar with. The problem was that they were all a little tricky to get to with 2 little kids in tow.
Rikugien ("six poems garden") Garden in Tokyo looked like the easiest one to get to, so off we went. I don't know why it took me so long to discover this place. It's one of the most beautiful gardens I've ever seen.
The garden is about a 3 minute walk from Komagome station on the JR Yamanote line.

There are several teahouses where you can sit and take a break while taking in the scenery.
I can't wait to get back here in the spring, but if we get a little snow this winter, I'd like to make another trip sooner.

Hi Ms Vanessa, love the beautiful scene fro the picture above. Do we have to pay something like admission fees before entering the tea house? ^_^

Hi Fatim. Entrance to the garden is ¥300 and as far as I know you only pay for what you eat/drink at the teahouses.
Oh, so lovely. You are so lucky. Public gardens is something I miss from life in the city.

Yes, they are pretty amazing and so wonderful to stumble upon in the middle of the city.
