Shopping: East Side Tokyo

I found my dream store the other day. It's called East Side Tokyo and it's 4 floors of paradise for the zakka or DIY shopper. I spent most of my time on the 4th floor where I oohed and aahed over their vast assortment of all the things I love to shop for: washi tape, ribbons, lace, gorgeous papers, stamps and stamp-making supplies. I've never seen such a beautiful rainbow display of Artnic inks. They have a huge selection of Japanese-made stamps, too. They have it all. And their prices are great.
The first and second floors are devoted to artificial flowers (more beautiful than you might think) and vases. I'm thinking the flowers would be great for drawing practice. The third floor, which I didn't get to, has paper and wrapping.

The closest train stop is Asakusabashi (go straight out exit 6A, walk about 4 minutes and you'll see it on the right), which is 2 stops on the Hibiya line from Asakusa. And Asakusa is a major sightseeing spot where you'll find the beautiful Sanjasama Shrine. What I'm getting at is this, you can do your cultural thing by visiting a famous Japanese site and then you won't feel guilty at all doing a little zakka shopping afterward!
