The Tree Didn't Fit In The Mailbox... Yay!

My white Christmas tree arrived earlier this week and we got to decorating it last night. No surprises with this online purchase... it fit the description perfectly. It looks right at home in front of the bay window. I was actually considering making three or so dozen ornaments by hand, but decided on a box of 35 from Wal-mart instead. Over the next few years, I'm sure the girls will be bringing home their own handmade ornaments from school (just like my sister and I did years ago). This way, I can just replace our budget balls with the kids' stuff.

I wish I still had some of the holiday crafts I made as a kid, but they were all lost during a move. Do you have any handmade goods from your childhood? Do tell!

Note to self. NEVER store your Christmas decorations in big, black trash bags that you may one day mistake for garbage. You will be amazed how quickly you will compile your own Christmas treasures. Love the white tree. My neighbor across the street wanted one, so she just spray painted hers white. I think it was OK for a while, but after a few years it yellowed.

Hi Vanessa, I used to have one actually, it's a small black horse toy in which I love to hang on the Christmas Tree and there were a dozen of them. But after years go by, I didn't remember where I put all of them...:(
Probably missing....

just say no to plastic garbage bags! i can't imagine spray painting a tree! that must have taken a lot of paint.

fatim, maybe you did what we did in our family... stored the ornaments in garbage bags and accidentally threw them out! but then again, maybe your cute horses will show up some day : )

My mom saved a bunch of mine and when my mother in law moved we inherited my husbands box of homemade ornaments. It is cute to see the little things we made!

You're lucky. I like the look of my matching pink ornaments, but it would be more meaningful to have ones that brought back memories!
