Master Bedroom Decorating: Planning Stage
It's time to get cracking with our bedroom decor (that's an inspiration shot from BHG up above). Things have been positively yucky since we moved in.
This weekend, I'm painting window trim and moldings white (they're a yellowing white color now) and my husband is taking down wallpaper. This is the third room (forth if you consider that the pineapple paper spanned two rooms, really) where we've taken down wallpaper and the most difficult. After two hours, only about a tenth of the room is wallpaper-free.

Below, is a little mood board I put together, because a) it's fun and b) I hope it will help me stay on track in terms of an overall color scheme and style.

Elephant print
Toile fabric
Headboard
Ikat pillow
Yellow bedding
Blue rug
Mirror
Dresser
Paint
Some of these things I already have: the rug, the artwork and chandelier, which is unusually glam for me, but I love it. I also went out on a whim a couple of weeks ago and bought a deeply discounted dresser and two nightstands at Sears, like the piece pictured. I thought the dark furniture would keep the room from looking too girly (my husband sleeps here, too, afterall).
Now for the before pictures of our bedroom. The trim looks much whiter in the pictures than it really is. And it's hard to see, but that's sort of a pin stripe wallpaper on the walls.
